Tiger Lily

Feline stomatitis is a severely painful condition that is only successfully treated and cured with full mouth extractions.

Tiger Lily suffered from this condition as seen here.

Tiger Lily received Atlanta Veterinary Dentistry Standard of Care treatment for feline stomatitis involving:

  1. Preoperative intravenous administration of several pain medications continued over 2 hours.
  2. Local nerve blocks at the start of anesthesia
  3. Sectioning of all multi rooted teeth then thorough oral lavage to remove any microscopic tooth remnants
  4. Gum flaps to expose each jaw quadrant
  5. Complete surgical extraction of all teeth
  6. Tooth socket with diamond burs to remove all remnants of tooth tissue (periodontal ligament)
  7. Bone contour to remove sharp edges
  8. Extensive lavage to remove any additional microscopic tooth remnants.
  9. Suture closure of all gum tissue

Seventy percent of all patients are cured with this treatment requiring no additional care after 2-3 months. This is Tiger Lily 2 months after treatment.
