CLEFT PALATE

Peanut has a cleft in the hard and soft palate producing chronic nasal infection and sneezing when drinking.

The cleft opens communication between the oral bacteria and the nasal cavity and allows food and water to get up into the nose. This is the hard palate defect.

This is the soft palate defect.

This is 3 weeks following repair. Nerve blocks and careful, minimally traumatic technique allows patients recover very quickly. They are generally discharged within 90 mins of the procedure.
